Insensitivity
Close to a two hundred dead and people maimed for life in hundreds, 26/11 is the biggest terror outbreak on Indian soil. This is a moment of grief and despair to the country, particularly to those who have lost their loved ones. In such a terrible situation where one is expected to lend a hand and give hope to those in grief, there are many who worry about the incident’s implications on commerce and their personal issues.
First in the list is, “The Man of Indian Cricket…Mr Lalit Modi”. Sooner the news broke, there comes the announcement. This fellow seems to be more worried about cricket while the commandos were still battling with terrorists who held hundreds in hostage. Ya, the incident has implications on cricket and in a cricket crazy country like us, we cannot afford to miss action, but was that the right time for the announcement? Even if he had felt so responsible enough to inform those cricket desperadoes, he could have at least added a few words of sympathy. Finally, it was the British media who had to inform him of being so insensitive, and this man organises another press conference in an effort to potray his humanistic sides.
Then, Mr.R.R.Patil..the home minister of maharastra. This incident is even more absurd and senseless. “Such small incidents happen in such big cities”, was his statement. SMALL?? WTF?? SMALL?? His intention was clear…beat the criticism that was coming and save his political ambitions. Did he feel morally responsibile is an entirely different issue, but there is no room for such grave and coarse remarks.
The media..the fourth estate in democracy. Some sections of this group have never felt the responsibility. What if amithab had slept with a gun under his pillow or sanjay dutt had appointed two more body guards. The reason crystal clear..celeb talk mints money
Can’t we stop being so over personal and think about the tragedy for a minute.
